Anthony's First Hike

We caught our first glimpse of a little warmer spring weather on Saturday, March 9th, and had recently invested in a backpack carrier we found for Anthony at a consignment sale. So, we decided to go hiking up at Pocket and try it out. We had no plan for how far we wanted to hike, mainly because we weren't sure how much Anthony could handle (or us for that matter!) He loved it though, especially after we gave him a stick to hold. We ended up hiking all the way to Laurel Falls and back and enjoyed a long awaited afternoon outside.

He's all strapped in and ready to go!

How cute is this?

A little waterfall on the hike in.

I love how the trail follows alongside the creek.

Tried to get one of all three of us -
Anthony was still mesmerized with the creek.

There are some huge boulders in Pocket!

Anthony's stick! He carried it the rest of the hike.

We made it! Laurel Falls

The trail was a little crazy in places -
more like rock climbing than hiking!

Anthony wanted to touch the tree too.

Mommy took a turn hiking with Anthony on the way back.

Notice he still has his stick...

So happy! I think he likes hiking!
