21 Months Old

Anthony turned 21 months old on March 30th, 2013. How is he almost two years old? It was another fun month, and we're so thankful it's finally spring and hopefully the warmer weather will show up soon! Updates from this month:

  • Anthony has taken an interest in some new toys this month. One of his favorite new things to do is work puzzles, and he's quickly getting really good at working them. He is also a huge fan of Mega Bloks right now and building with them. He has always loved books and still does. Even at this point I think he would rather have you read him a book than play with a toy with him. The only thing he doesn't like much are animated things, especially stuffed animals. He's just a little leery, which I can't blame him really.

  • We are starting to catch our first glimpses of the terrible two's! Anthony has had some pretty good tantrums this month, and it's becoming clear we have a strong-willed one on our hands.

  • We've been working with Anthony on counting, and he's starting to notice when there are one, two, or three of things.

  • He's still eating well, but really prefers his food to be lukewarm or even on the cool side. There's been a few times lately we thought his food might have been too hot by the way he reacted when he took a bite, but that wasn't the case after checking it. We've had to start blowing on practically everything he puts in his mouth before he'll eat it.

  • This boy loves to be dizzy. He's started spinning around until he gets dizzy and also likes to spin around in desk chairs.

  • Speaking of chairs, Anthony also likes to crawl up next to you in the chair or on the couch and then try and steal your seat! He wiggles around and tries to push you out and thinks he's so funny if he takes away your seat.

  • We've also started working with Anthony to get him to throw trash away. He's so good at going to the trash can and putting garbage in it, but we're having to watch him - I've found a few non-trash items in there lately!

  • Anthony has figured out how to work the DVD player already. He can put in and take out discs and knows where the power and play buttons are.

  • This boy has an obsession with belts. He has seen David getting ready and putting one on and has begged to wear one too. The day we went to the aquarium he actually had on one of my belts that was wrapped around him twice because he insisted on wearing one. It was a little crazy when changing him, so we're going to need to get him his own belt soon!
