15 Months Old

Anthony turned 15 months old on September 30, 2012. Here are some highlights from this month:

  • So, Anthony began walking last month, but now he is practically running everywhere! We figured that would be the case once he did start walking. He also has learned how to stand up on his own and get going from there. He did this for the first time on September 10th.

  • Anthony is still eating extremely well, and his favorite snacks are bananas, apples, and cheese sticks. He is really wanting to feed himself more and more with either his fingers or using a fork and insists on doing so most all of the time, although occasionally he still wants you to feed him sometimes. He is one who stuffs his mouth full so we try and keep a close eye on him. This month he's also been smacking his lips to tell you when he wants something to drink.

  • He's been saying a few more words this month, but will only say them once and never again. In particular, he's said "red" and "milk" both plain as day, but just the one time so we know that he can say them! If he does try to say something though and you guess what it is, he gets so excited when you figure out what he's trying to say or what he wants.

  • Something he's done constantly this month is a new fascination with talking on the phone. He'll pick up one of our cell phones and put it behind his head and will pretend he's talking to someone. It's not only phones he does it with, but anything that resembles a phone, including the tv remote control!

  • Speaking of, when he's not using the remote as a phone, he loves to try and push the buttons and change the channels. Most times he just messes it up, but sometimes he'll switch it over to the Disney channel or something he wants to watch. His favorite right now is Little Einsteins, and he loves to try and help Rocket blast off and will pat his hands and raise his arms with them on the show.

  • We've had to watch him this month because he likes to fall back on things. He mainly does it with his little chair, which is fine, but he's also doing it in his bed, which makes me nervous thinking he'll hit the side rails. It's like the whole "trust fall"...he plants his feet and just falls backward with no fear!

  • Anthony's favorite thing right now is trains. He is obsessed with them! He sees them often when we are in town or driving down the road, and you can also hear them from our house. When he hears the whistle he'll say, "Choo, choo" every single time.

  • Bath time has gotten a little longer because Anthony loves to stay in the tub until all the water goes down the drain. I've heard of some kids who are terrified with water going down the drain, but not Anthony. He's so fascinated by it and insists on sitting there and watching it go down.

  • This month we started to catch glimpses of Anthony's temper, and he's starting to throw fits when we have to tell him no. Not too bad, but it's beginning. Even still, Anthony is the best baby ever. He is almost always so happy and is just so good. He continues to be very loving and affectionate and gives lots of hugs, snuggles, and kisses. I hope it stays that way for a long time!

Here are some pictures from the month of September:

This is where we've spent a lot of time this month with my half marathon training.

Another visit from Grandpa Ken and Lynn.

David couldn't find his hairbrush one morning and turned the house
upside down looking for it.This is where we found it...

We got out his tent for the first time this month. He had a blast!
