The house we are currently renting has a pool, and we weren't able to get it fixed up and use it last summer with us moving in and trying to get settled and Anthony being born. So, we decided back in the spring that we definitely wanted to have it for this summer, and for the last couple of months we have been working to get it up and running and fixing up the entire patio area too. At this point we've spent more of our time working on it than relaxing in it, but a couple of weeks ago we finally finished up the last of the painting and touch-ups and have been enjoying it so much now that the work's done! As with any big project, I decided to take some before and after pictures, as well as "in progress" pictures. We are so happy with the way it turned out and again, love hanging out there and swimming! Anthony especially loves the water, and I'll post some pictures of us all swimming soon, but for now, here are the ones showing all the work that was done!

I didn't get any pictures once we got almost all the water drained, but all the gunk that was in the bottom of the pool was so nasty! Leaves, some shingles, and who knows what else - just sludge that was so thick the poor guys cleaning it up couldn't use the shop vac to suck it up and had to dip it by hand with buckets. So, after lots of scrubbing and pressure washing, it was ready to fill back up!
Yes, we filled it up with a water hose...took almost a full week running it day and night.
