Two Months Old
Anthony was two months old earlier this week on Tuesday! At his appointment, he weighed 12 lbs., 11 oz. so we were a little off in our estimate a couple of weeks ago, but that puts him in the 75th percentile for weight. For his height, we can't get over how long and tall he is...he measured in at 24 inches which was in the 90th percentile for a two month old! Everything else went well, and he is perfectly healthy. The only thing is he tends to favor his right side, whether it be sleeping or sitting in his car seat or swing, and he always looks to the right. So, I'm making the effort to help position him to where he's looking to the left more and also doing some simple stretches/exercises to help strengthen his weaker neck muscles because of it. He had his first shots that day, and again, the bigger issue was having his arms and legs held than the shots themselves. He did just fine though, and they didn't bother him at all. At two months, he's really starting to be so active. He's playing a lot and interacting with us all the time by smiling and cooing. Since my last update, he's been working his arms and moving them more. It seems he's always flailing them around and trying to reach for things, but still doesn't have good control over them. It's been so funny, sometimes one of his arms will catch his eye, and he'll stare it down and can't quite figure out what it is or where it came from. Now for the big news - he's started sleeping more at night this past week! He's now sleeping between six-seven hours his first stretch at night, will wake up and eat, and then sleeps another three or four. One of my favorite things is watching him try and get awake in the mornings...he stretches for the longest time and grunts and rubs his eyes, but once he gets fairly awake, he will just lay there and smile at me...I love it! With him being more active and expressive, taking these pictures each month is starting to get a little crazy, and I can only imagine what it will be like trying to get them once he starts rolling around and crawling and being distracted. Here are some of the two month ones I took on Tuesday:
