The Town Turtles

A couple of weeks ago David's Mom and Dad came down to visit, and on Saturday David wanted to take them to the Sandy Springs Festival. For the last few months, Sandy Springs has had the Town Turtles all over. There were 75 of them scattered around, and they all had a different design that an artist had painted. Well, that was the last week they were on display, so they gathered them all together at the Festival before they auctioned them off, so we went to see them one last time.

We just thought we had seen them all before, but we hadn't even found half of them when we were out and about this summer! Some of them were really creative and original, and it just made us so happy that someone would make a fuss over turtles! It was great to see all the kids that were so excited and everything. They were face-painting turtles on kids' faces, and they had pictures of turtles for them out to color.

It was a nice little Festival that had a good hometown feel to it even though it was in the middle of Atlanta. We thought after they auctioned the turtles off last week that we wouldn't see them again, but some people and businesses that have bought them are keeping them out still. We've seen a few around town the last few days, so that makes us happy. We really missed seeing them the week around the Festival.

Here's a link about them, and then below are some pictures of our favorites!
